The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles is going to present a special film series titled “Emotions in Color: A Kaleidoscope of Indian Cinema” to salute the colourful journey of Indian cinema. This unique exhibition will run from March 7 to April 19, 2025 and will showcase 12 iconic films of Indian cinema.
This is the first time in the history of Indian cinema that the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures is presenting the colours and emotional depth of the Indian film industry in this form. This important programme is conducted by renowned filmmaker and film preservationist Shivendra Singh Dungarpur, who is the founding director of the Film Heritage Foundation. This non-profit organisation works to preserve the heritage of Indian cinema.
The main objective of this film series is to highlight the evolution of colours in Indian cinema and their emotional and visual impact. This programme will provide the audience an opportunity to understand the role of colours in Indian films and feel its journey.
