The episode begins with Anupamaa’s thoughts, where she recalls Rahi’s lifelong struggles and prays for her happiness. She fears that despite Prem’s support, the Kothari family might stop Rahi’s dreams from being fulfilled and eventually break them. Meanwhile, Gautam confronts a man who claims to have a big secret. The man demands money, assuring that he is telling the truth. Gautam, who is planning revenge after getting slapped by Rahi, asks the man to wait.
Rahi is extremely happy with her Haldi ceremony dress, leaving the Shah family curious about her excitement. She insists that her simplicity is her beauty. However, Mita has also chosen a dress for Rahi, which Khyati appreciates. Baa reveals that she had asked Mita to choose the dress and Khyati urges Parag to approve it. Parag, feeling neglected, expresses his displeasure.
Baa questions Prem’s anger, but Prem clarifies that he has decided to live separately. He also reveals that after marriage he will move to Mumbai with Rahi and complete his studies. Parag says that Prem will not return home, while Baa argues that Rahi will give up her career after marriage.
Anupamaa talks to the priest and accidentally bumps into a mysterious man, whom she tries to identify. On the other hand, Rahi refuses to wear the dress chosen by the Kothari family and is adamant that she will wear the dress designed by Pari. Pari asks her to reconsider, but Rahi is adamant on her decision.
On the other hand, Ishani urges Raja to talk about their relationship in front of the Kothari family. Pakhi is excited, but upset with Raja’s hesitation, Ishani expresses her displeasure over the phone that she is tired of this dilemma.
When the Kothari and Shah families gather for Rahi and Prem’s haldi, Anupamaa starts feeling uneasy as she keeps thinking about the mysterious man. Baa gets upset with Rahi’s decision of not wearing the dress chosen by the Kothari family, arguing that Mita has put effort into choosing it. Rahi defends her decision saying that Pari has designed the dress with love. Anupamaa intervenes and suggests that Rahi can wear both the dresses.
The haldi ritual begins and Rahi decides to take Parag’s blessings, addressing him as father. Anupamaa sees the mysterious man again. As Rahi goes to change clothes for haldi, Anupamaa starts suspecting Gautam. Meanwhile, Anil convinces Prem to go with Rahi while he takes the responsibility of handling the situation.
Prem hugs Mahi on the bed. Seeing this, Anupamaa remembers the Vanraj and Kavya incident. Rahi and Anupama are stunned to see all this.
