Sangeeta reveals that their mother was crying the previous day and expresses a desire to speak with Apollena. Excited yet cautious, Apollena recalls Grandma’s advice and declines the call, citing exam preparations as the reason. Sangeeta assures Madhu that she will not disturb Apollena, acknowledging the importance of her upcoming exams.
Later, Lali and Guruji are at the market, negotiating with a vegetable seller. A neighbor informs Lali that Renuka has severed ties with Girdar and plans to host a wedding at her house. Guruji speculates that Renuka might aim to create a scene at their home. Back at the house, Madhu encourages Girdar to eat, but he refuses. Lali arrives, greeting everyone and asking about Sangeeta and her mother.
She comments on the wedding arrangements at Renuka’s house, suggesting it’s due to the perceived inadequacy of their own home. Neighbors gossip about the family, questioning their absence from the wedding. Grandma hesitates but lies, claiming they are preparing to attend. Madhu urges Girdar to stop repairing the machine and focus on motivating Apollena for her exams, pointing out that she hasn’t eaten since the previous day. Grandma acknowledges Apollena’s sadness over her sister’s wedding and the family’s estrangement from Renuka. Madhu criticizes Renuka’s decision to sever ties, emphasizing the need to prioritize Apollena’s future in science. She encourages Grandma to make decisions that prioritize their family’s well-being.
With Madhu’s insistence, Girdar speaks to Apollena, advising her to focus on her exams despite the challenges. He reassures her that she will eventually reconcile with Sangeeta and encourages her to channel her efforts into the exam. Determined, Apollena resolves to perform well. As a result, Apollena’s performance in the exam falters, leaving her disheartened.
