Episode Update: Devika’s Influence on Suman’s Promise and the Impact on Her Family
The episode begins with a conversation between Devika and her husband, where she expresses her opposition to his helping his wife, Suman. Devika doesn’t want him to support Suman, fearing that she’ll receive even more praise from the family. Suman struggles to understand the household rituals and traditions, feeling somewhat out of place. Meanwhile, Gitanjali Devi prepares two Lakshmi Devi idols, which she gives to Chandrakant for his prayers. In a traditional gesture, each family member presents a gift to Chandrakant, who blesses them in return and offers small tokens of his own. Teerth, another family member, steps forward with a promise to his father as a part of this ritual. While Suman is happy to participate, she’s unfamiliar with this tradition.
When Chandrakant asks Suman for her gift, she hesitantly admits that she hasn’t brought anything for her father-in-law. Devika seizes the opportunity to ridicule Suman, pointing out her ignorance of the household’s customs despite taking on the responsibility for this year’s Lakshmi veneration. Suman promises to bring a gift the next day, but Chandrakant instead asks for a commitment: he wants her to stop selling fast food at the Sarafa Bazaar. This unexpected request leaves Suman stunned, and she hesitates to make such a serious pledge. Chandrakant uses gentle persuasion, hoping to influence her to abandon the family’s fast food business. Under pressure, Suman finally vows to cease the business, much to Chandrakant’s satisfaction. Devika quickly reminds Suman of the promise she has just made.
Meanwhile, back at Sarafa Bazaar, three women attempt to manage the food stall, but the customers are disappointed. Many ask specifically for Suman, praising her talent for cooking delicious food. Despite their efforts, the women struggle to recreate Suman’s signature taste, and the customers reject their dishes.
In Suman’s room, Devika takes pleasure in Suman’s misfortune. She cruelly mocks Suman, reminding her that due to her father-in-law’s condition, she can no longer help her family. This decision has left Suman’s loved ones in a difficult and painful situation. Devika had been waiting for this moment, and she revels in the chaos that has befallen Suman’s family.
Soon, Gulshan calls Devika, informing her about the turmoil at Suman’s maternal home. He shares a live video of the stall, showing customers rejecting the food and complaining about the change. Both Devika and Gulshan ridicule Suman’s struggling family. Bhumi, one of the women at the stall, calls Suman and pleads with her to come and help manage the situation, but Devika firmly declares that Suman is no longer allowed to join them.
Feeling immense guilt, Suman is heartbroken over her inability to support her family, while Devika coldly advises her to live like other aristocratic women, enjoying a life free from such responsibilities.
The episode ends on this note, with Suman facing the consequences of her promise and the heavy burden of her family’s struggle.
